Teamwork
My teamwork experience was during my junior year of high school. As a part of one of my classes, we had to do a big service project, and we were allowed to do it in groups. My group consisted of me and three other girls, and we decided to do a book drive to benefit an organization that sent books to struggling schools in third world countries. All of us had separate responsibilities as well as responsibilities we all shared. My responsibilities were to create flyers and provide a few boxes that could be put around the school in which people could drop their books off. Everyone helped with making posters, gathering boxes, counting books, and promoting the book drive. We communicated ideas by talking to each other, bouncing ideas off of each other, and coming up with ways to make the book drive become a reality. I was able to help others contribute during the meetings by asking them questions and I encouraged involvement by trying my best to help split the work evenly between all of us. I personally helped the team by making flyers and giving boxes for the rooms in the school, as stated before. We facilitated a constructive team environment by trying to do a lot of the steps together, such as making posters, counting books, etc. We tried our best to work as a team on whatever we could. We responded to the little conflict on our team by talking to each other and trying to reach a middle ground between the two points of view being brought to light.
