Sticky Innovation Honor's Experience Reflection
This experience was an honor's seminar focusing on the problem of the decreasing bee population in the world. However, contrary to popular belief, this was not a class about bees. I believe that this class was made to teach students about working on seemingly impossible problems together. This class also allowed students from completely different backgrounds – art and engineering – to work together on these problems and use the different perspectives to find the best solution. This class allowed me to learn how to work better with others from different majors more than any other class, and helped me to learn how to work in a more diverse group setting than I was used to. I also learned how to look at large scale problems from different perspectives in order to find the best solution possible. I also learned to think about the possible consequences of solutions, and to understand that with these “wicked problems”, the solutions will inherently have some kind of effect on the problem.
In this class, the final project was to create a solution to one of the problems that the bees face, and my group decided to create a website for a nonprofit. The link to this website can be found in the following page, where all of my projects from this class have been documented.
