Year in Review:
My first year at college has been an experience full of learning. Most of all, I learned a lot about the responsibility involved with being independent. Even though I have had responsibilities before, I have never had quite as much responsibility as I had this first year of college. I learned that it takes a lot to have so much responsibility, and that you have to be motivated to be able to keep up with it all. It is very significant that I learned this from my first year of college because it is stuff that I will use for the rest of my life. Skills such as time management, prioritizing, and staying organized are the crucial things that. Even though I have learned a lot from this year, there is something that I would change about it if I could. I would change when I learned these things about responsibility. Like a lot of people who first start college, I was at first a little overwhelmed with everything. This caused me to fall slightly behind first semester, which affected my year. If I could, I would go back and use the things that I know now to stay on track that semester. I will definitely used the things that I learned this year with my future college semesters and even throughout my career. If I could give myself one piece of advice for the future, it would be to use what I have learned this year and not let all of that experience go to waste. Another thing that I am going to do for the future is to set goals for myself. The one goal that I have for the upcoming year is to not only improve my academic performance but to explore more creative outlets as well. I will be try to pursue a past time in photography, and hopefully use that as one of a few creative outlets.
Over the past year, I have delved into the world of a mechanical engineering student, and through this I have learned a lot about myself. I came into my first year not really knowing if engineering was what I wanted to do. Now that I have experienced my first year, I know that I want to pursue engineering further. That means that I can take steps toward my career with confidence, and I look forward to that.
