This year, I learned a lot from my experiences. I grew up a lot this past year, and I pushed myself out of my comfort zone. One of those things was to reach out to other people in my major in order to make some new friends. This helped me out of my comfort zone, pushing me to talk to new people. This experience not only pushed me to meet new people, it also helped me with my education. Knowing more people in my major helped me study more and to study better. Being able to ask my peers questions about class helped to form new friendships and helped me understand the material better. Overall, I am very glad that I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and talked to new people in my major.
Another new experience I had this year is my new job. This year, I started a co-op at a different company than my first two. This required me to start the job search again, as well as interview for a job again. This helped me with my professional development, and my social skills. I had to prepare for, and perform well at, an interview in a professional setting. This enhanced my skills in the business world. The new job is also teaching me a lot about the professional world. This job has taught me how to manage a project while also working with day-to-day responsibilities, a skill I know will be useful in the future. I have also learned how to present in a conference room setting, and how to work with others on a daily basis. This job has also given me the opportunity to see how an my work on the computer and in the system ends up in the manufacturing plant. I have been able to work in a manufacturing setting for the first time as well. All of these things not only pushed me out of my comfort zone, but also helped me to broaden my professional experience and skill.
All together, I think I have learned a lot this year. I hope to learn just as much next year as well. One of my goals for next year is to keep talking to new people. I want to keep making new friends, while deepening friendships I already have. My other goal for next year is to continue to work toward a better GPA. My final goal for next year is to continue to push myself past my boundaries, and broaden my horizons both personally and professionally.
